Discuss the different materials that are used in Watercolour Painting
Learn how to apply a wash
Learn about colours
Learn how to mask out
Learn about building up the layers
Complete some indoor & outdoor paintings (subject to weather).
REQUIREMENTS
Paint Palette for mixing paints
A clean Jar for water
1 box/packet of Tissues
A Minimum of 4 Tubes of Watercolour Paint in Blue, Yellow, Red & Green (student quality is fine Suggestions include: Cotman’s or Art Spectrum)
1 sheet of Arches 300g Watercolour Paper
Other Paper will be required later in the course
(To help you decide, you will be given some sample papers to try early in the class as different papers produce different effects).
2 watercolour Brushes (Round #3,#10 & a flat 1″ for washes)
Sketchbook
2B Pencil & Sharpener
Kneadable Putty eraser
Notebook & Pen
Quality Art supplies can be expensive & while a better effect will be gained by using good quality brushes & paints, I do understand it isn’t always possible to afford these so please bring the best that you can afford. You are welcome to email me if unsure.

Learn the techniques that allow pencil marks on a piece of paper to be transformed into pictures.
Discuss different drawing materials & there uses.
Learn about perspective so you can create a sense of distance & proportion in your drawings.
Learn about composition so that your drawing is pleasing to the eye & techniques that entice the viewer to look into your drawing.
Learn about tone & how to make objects come alive & take shape.

This is about experimenting, learning through doing & going home with a painting!
Watch how to paint a landscape & create your own version step by step with lots of tips along the way.
There are no expectations & no experience required.
Some equipment required…Acrylic Paints NOT included.
BYO glass of wine (if you aren’t driving)!
